Cloud service providers could have significant cost reduction by commercializing their large computing resources using cloud platforms. A cloud platform is able to simulate the major physical resources by applying virtual machines. Scheduling is one of the applied mechanisms in virtual machines for cloud computing which reduces costs. In this paper, a new and optimal approach is presented to solve the problems relating to resources scheduling in virtual machines for cloud computing by using auction mechanism. The presented algorithm has been proposed and implemented by considering multiple network factors such as bandwidth and auction maturity. In the first step of the proposed algorithm, the order of customers’ usage is performed by competition time. In the second step, the customers are classified and the given virtual machine resources are configured based on the minimum cost of cloud service providers. The experimental simulation results represent that the proposed method could increase the quality of cloud services and reduce the cost of using virtual machine resources and also the cost of cloud services providers significantly.
